Our cosmetic dentistry patients repeatedly tell us how an improved smile gives them a stronger sense of confidence. In that way, cosmetic dentistry can influence a number of quantifiable effects on your life from being more successful and more extroverted to just feeling better about yourself and life in general. An attractive smile can be a real life-changer. Sometimes even small changes can make a big difference.

Every person’s vision and goal for how they want their smile/teeth to eventually look is a little different. While in some cases, these changes will also benefit the function of the mouth, others can be purely cosmetic. With all of the options currently available, Advanced Dentistry and Aesthetics has something for everyone. You can count on Dr. Peterson spending the time you need, to explain and show all options, so you feel great about your treatment plan from the very beginning.

Natural Looking Restoration

When it comes to esthetics Dr. Peterson prides himself on creating natural looking beauty. He spends time discussing every aspect of smile design and tooth characteristics with you. He listens to you and the result you are after. He takes into account the entire face, customizing for each person, every time. He is very involved in the process start to finish to be sure our patients get the smiles they are dreaming of. This becomes obvious as you browse our galleries of before and after makeovers.

Smile Makeover

Depending on your specific needs, a full smile makeover may include any combination of tooth whitening, porcelain veneers, bonding, crowns, inlays/onlays, dental implants, laser gum contouring, botox and fillers, or orthodontics including Invisalign®. These procedures can have transformative effects on patient’s smiles.

Excellence in cosmetic dentistry is achieved through the artistry of the dentist and the quality of the materials used. Dr. Peterson has excellent training and experience in cosmetic dentistry with post-graduate training. The ceramic veneers offered by our office are crafted by master ceramists. This combination of expertise, attention to detail and materials produces beautiful cosmetic results for our patients. An approach founded in Functional Dentistry ensures your new smile will stand the test of time!

Porcelain Veneers

Dental veneers are thin porcelain laminates custom-fitted by Dr. Peterson and affixed to the surface of your teeth. Veneers are used to fix a variety of dental problems. These problems can include broken or chipped teeth, crooked or misaligned teeth, discolored or stained teeth, gaps between teeth, and worn teeth.

Veneers are an excellent dentistry option that provide better results than the minor reparations tooth bonding provides. Porcelain veneers do not require the amount of time or commitment that is associated with braces to have straight teeth, and they are stain-resistant. Porcelain veneers give the appearance of natural teeth, and gum tissues react well to them.

Most dentists will go a career without performing a full mouth reconstruction. Dr. Peterson’s education not only makes singularly qualified, notably when a bite change will improve the outcome, but At Advanced Dentistry and Aesthetics it is one of our routine services. Whether you have missing teeth, no teeth or only require some of them to be repaired, Dr. Peterson has the skills and experience needed. We have refined the process so that after the planning phase you are able to have a full mouth reconstruction completed in only two visits.

Botox & Fillers

The face and lips frame the smile.  A dentist well-trained in facial structure and function is the ideal professional to provide the best results with botox, fillers, and biofillers!  When a gummy smile is involved a fuller upper lip, and a little Botox to prevent the upper lip from rising, can make a huge difference!

Laser Gum Shaping

Laser gum contouring can remove excess gum tissue around your teeth in order to show or uncover more of the natural crown of your tooth. This can result in a fuller, more complete smile for the patient simply by exposing dental tissue already there. This can be for one or two of the front teeth where the gumline isn’t even with the others, or across all the teeth showing when you smile. Not all lasers are created equally and we have some of the best in the world! Dr. Peterson has amazing tools and he performs gingivectomies on a regular basis.

Teeth Whitening

Teeth whitening products are used to brighten teeth that have been stained, darkened, or discolored by food, tobacco use, age, or injury. There are a variety of in-office and take-home teeth whitening products on the market that can reduce or eliminate stains.

Over-the-counter products

  • Rinses, toothpastes, gels and varnishes – lower-strength products that only make contact with dental surfaces for a limited amount of time.
  • Whitening strips – providing a longer exposure of active ingredients to the tooth surface, whitening strips can brighten the color of teeth surfaces by a few shades – the disadvantage is the lack of a custom fit

Professional Whitening

  • Teeth whitening trays – custom-made trays containing higher-grade whitening agents than are available over-the-counter
  • Internal Whitening – Done when teeth have darkened after root canal therapy, the small filling that was placed after your root canal is removed, whitening material is placed internally in the office, and the filling is replaced after the procedure.

BrightSmile | Zoom II

  • Most popular in our office
  • A protective barrier is placed over the top of the gums, followed by a gel applied to the teeth and then light activated for four 15-minute sessions.  We will apply desensitizing treatments following the procedure to reduce the incidence of post-treatment sensitivity.

Bonding is a process where cosmetic filling materials are used to reshape, repair and improve the appearance of teeth. Different from porcelain veneers that are crafted by master ceramists and then bonded to the front of your teeth, bonding is done directly and built to your teeth in one appointment. Depending on the situation, one solution may be recommended over the other. Bonding can be a conservative option for you. This is one of Dr. Peterson’s favorite procedures to perform, and when you see the surprising results in our gallery, you will see his passion reflects in the results.
